About B.Pharma

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) is a four-year undergraduate program in which students study the methods and process of preparing drugs and how does the dispensing of medicine and drugs take place. Anyone who aspires to be a pharmacist today, it is mandatory for them to undertake this course so that they have thorough and in-depth knowledge of the science of the medicine.

B Pharmacy Admission 2020?

B Pharma admission process is primarily done on the basis of performance based on one of the entrance examinations.

Few private colleges like Amity University take admission on the basis of marks obtained in Class XII (Science). 

Lateral admission to B Pharmacy course is also offered to students with D Pharmacy (Diploma in Pharmacy) qualification.

The lateral entry system allows students to get admission into the second year of B Pharmacy course directly. Hence, in 3 years students can earn a B Pharmacy degree, instead of 4 years (normal entry).

B Pharmacy Eligibility

The B Pharmacy eligibility criteria is mentioned below:


Candidates should have passed 10+2 examinations with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.

Students possessing 10+2 qualification from non-formal based schooling such as NIOS and state-based open schooling are not eligible for the B Pharmacy course.

Students should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the B Pharmacy course.

Candidates who have completed the D Pharm course from a PCI (Pharmacy Council of India) approved institution. This is lateral admission in the second /third semester of B Pharmacy course.

Candidates who have cleared B Pharmacy Entrance Exams like MET, BITSAT, NIPER JEE, KCET etc

Eligibility Criteria


The applicant must be a citizen of India and should have passed the H.S. (10+2) or its equivalent examination from a recognized Council/Board in a regular class mode with the following:




Age restriction: Applicants shall at least be 17 years of age on 31st December in the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.


 Individual pass marks in Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics / Biology.

 Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST/PWD/OBC) as well as pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary (10+2).

 Applicant will be in good mental and physical health.

 Candidate will have to qualify  on the year of admission, or JEE (Main) for admission in B. Pharm Colleges.

 Candidates will be required to submit a Migration certificate if he/she passes qualifying examinations from a board other than or a University . If the certificate is not submitted within the date specified by the University, the provisional admission of the candidate will stand automatically cancelled.

 Residential/ Domicile Certificate required for Reserved Category candidates (SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC) for admission in Pharmacy course.

Admission through Lateral Entry to the 2nd year (3rd semester level) of the undergraduate degree course during the Academic Session 2019-20 is open to candidates who have either passed diploma course in Pharmacy from any polytechnic/ Institute with at least overall 50% marks (45% for reserved category) through JELET(Pharma) organized by.
